From Gujarat to the Nation: WAAH’s Aim to Expand Science and Mathematics Hands-on Learning Education Through CSCs

WAAH CSCs are designed to support the integration of Science and Mathematics education into the school curriculum, equipping students from grades 6 to 12 with multidisciplinary abilities. These centres aim to foster an innovation culture and prepare students for the future by providing dedicated spaces for developing skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and creative thinking. Each WAAH CSC is equipped with a variety of Teaching Learning Materials (TLM), including models, teaching aids, interactive exhibits, experiment kits, and modern gadgets. By offering these resources, the centres create an engaging learning environment that encourages students to explore and understand scientific concepts hands-on.

Activities at WAAH CSCs

School Activities
The WAAH CSC school coordinator, along with other school teachers, conducts a variety of curricular and co-curricular activities with the students. These activities include demonstrations of models and interactive exhibits, hands-on sessions with various teaching aids, DIY projects, and model-making exercises. These initiatives are designed to help students grasp complex scientific concepts in an easier way.

School Visits
WAAH CSCs serve not only the host school but also schools from surrounding areas. These schools can schedule appointments to visit the WAAH CSC and conduct sessions with their students.

Community Engagements
WAAH CSCs also cater to the larger community outside of school (parents and lay public), giving them opportunities to explore the world of science and engaging them in various captivating activities such as astro-nights and experiments during their centre visits.

Teachers’ Orientation Training
Teachers at all WAAH CSCs receive hands-on orientation training on a regular basis for the optimum usage of the provided Teaching Learning Material. These trainings also serve as a platform for experience sharing between WAAH CSC teachers. They also receive ongoing support to continually upgrade their knowledge and solve the queries.
